The co-administration of Cefuroxime and probencid is not advisable as probencid inhibit renal excretion of Cefuroxime. Ceftin is a broad spectrum antibiotic and it can cause development of resistance and growth of non-susceptible organisms. The prolonged use of Ceftin can result in the development of superinfection. Cefuroxime is not generally administered in pregnant women and nursing mothers.
