Lopid should not be used in pregnancy and by nursing mothers. If it is an absolute must to take Lopid during pregnancy, it should be administered under the supervision of a medical practitioner. Gemfibrozil treatment is contraindicated in severe renal or hepatic dysfunction and in gall bladder diseases. Gemfibrozil and repaglinide should never be administered together as it can precipitate hypoglycemia. The patient should be cautioned of possibility of myositis during Lopid treatment.
