Microzide when given along with alcohol, narcotics or barbiturates can potentiate orthostatic hypotension. Hydrochlorothiazide when given along with corticosteroids can cause hypokalemia. The concomitant use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Microzide can cause a decrease in the diuretic effect of Hydrochlorothiazide. Microzide medicine and lithium when used together can cause lithium toxicity. Microzide and cholestryamine should not be administered together as they can affect the gastric absorption of Hydrochlorthiazide.
