The concomitant use of Amiloride and ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor antagonists, cyclosporine or tacrolimus can cause hyperkalemia. Hydrochlorothiazide should not be administered pediatric patients and in nursing mothers. Moduretic is not recommended for use by people suffering from anuria.. Hydrochlorthiazide when given along with alcohol, narcotics or barbiturates can potentiate orthostatic hypotension. Hydrochlorothiazide when given along with corticosteroids can cause hypokalemia. The concomitant use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Moduretic can cause a decrease in the diuretic effect of Amiloride Hydrochlorothiazide. Moduretic and cholestryamine should not be administered together as they can affect the gastric absorption of Hydrochlorthiazide. Moduretic should not be use if you have elevated potassium levels or if you are taking potassium-conserving agents. Moduretic is contraindicated in patients with anuria or impaired renal function.
