The concomitant administration of Pantoprazole and warfarin can lead to increase in prothrombin time and bleeding disorders. The patient should be advised to take Pantoprazole one hour before food. Protonix medicine should not be administered with antiretroviral drugs as it can cause development of drug resistance. The administration of drugs like digoxin and iron salts that require gastric pH for absorption should not be given along with Pantoprazole. It is not advisable to consume the Protonix during pregnancy and lactation. Pantoprazole is not recommended in pediatric patients. The dose of Protonix should be adjusted in patients with severe hepatic impairment. The long-term use of Protonix can cause gastric tumours.
